As part of my role, I oversaw the international relations of the fund, managing high level state visits, global events and showcasing not only the performance of our firm but also being an advocate and a promotor of the Israeli High-tech ecosystem. - Here again the biggest challenge was to shorten the essay to no more than 300 words...

Many times during my work at JVP where I found myself speaking and presenting to world leaders, from the French president to American Governors, CEOS of multinational corporations and leaders from various international institutions.

When working in technology, innovation, and investments you don’t always realize that your position contains an element which can also be regarded as a role of public diplomacy. I remember meeting presidents and heads of state and when discussing with them the opportunities innovation can create and understanding that the technology can become a bridge between countries and people. During one of these visits, I had the honor to meet with the head of the Italian Senate, who visited Israel. During this visit I was asked to present how Israel has incentivized and created an ecosystem that spearheads many of the advancements in different sectors. For me this visit was also very personal, being half Italian, and I wanted to be sure that not only did I present the Israeli side, but that I was able to inspire the Italian dignitaries to understand their role in pushing forward their ecosystem and how together we could create tools that will better the local economy and create a shift in the way the country and the people see and value technology.

Leadership in my view can be the thing that also strikes a thought, an idea, and a new vision. Global leadership can come from all sectors, as competent people exist in various areas with different traits. Allowing discussion, brainstorming and dialogue between leaders can create the change we want to see in the world, for the better.
