Mergers & Acquisitions

Summer One, Year One, Tough One (As M&As usually are..)

Mergers & Acquisitions

In the heat of the summer, I approached this class very interested in the subject, but also worried of how hard it would be. It was. But it was a great challenge too of which I am proud of my overall B grade. What is clear from the feedback below is that I am much more a storyteller than a numbers person..

his essay focuses mostly on the organizational and strategic aspects of the transaction discussed. Yet, just as important part of any M&A considerations are financial results. It will be most helpful to tap on some financial information to describe the financial and economic gains. Indeed, in your essay there are very few comments on the actual financial impact of the deal. Good that you have got charts, but adding some more graphs would further enhance your work. As stated in the instructions, this is expected to be a deliverable with professional quality output. Yet, it reads like it is merely answering the questions stated (i.e. transaction rationale, aftermath, viewpoint). This is the bare minimum. But as business school students you should have been able to put together a much better way of presenting your ideas, making it able to tell not just a story but a great story. Finally, quality deliverable always have page numbers!
